JOB DESCRIPTION
Dow is seeking new graduate PhD and Post Doc scientists and engineers who are interested in a career in Research & Development in locations such as Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania and more. Opportunities exist across the R&D function and are aligned with various business units.
New graduate Ph.D. and Post Doc researchers will be responsible for providing advanced problem solving capabilities to a variety of chemical- and material-related problems. The candidate will be expected to work as part of a cross-functional team in a variety of applications areas.
We are seeking candidates who are strong in one or more of the following areas: chemical synthesis, catalysis, molecular structure analysis, materials characterization, polymer physics, materials processing, polymer science, reaction engineering, process systems engineering, catalytic materials, separation science, modeling, chemical processing, programming and AI, fluid and/or solids handling, compounding/extrusion, structural/flow simulations, equipment & device design as well as other dimensions of chemical and materials science and engineering.
Job Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain excellent knowledge in your field of expertise
· Apply technical skills and techniques to solve chemical- and materials-related problems
· Use innovative approaches to solve technical problems
· Work well both independently and on project teams
· Document work in a timely fashion in data books, internal reports, patent disclosures and external publications as appropriate
· Communicate results and progress to technical teams, supervision, management and business leadership
Qualifications
A PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science or other science or engineering related discipline is required.
