Thesis Submission

Steps for Online SM and PhD/ScD Thesis Submission

Check to make sure the thesis title matches the approved title in WEBSIS. If you are changing your title in WEBSIS, be sure to let Saana McDaniel know, saana@mit.edu.

Submit the unsigned title and abstract pages to megradoffice@mit.edu for review. Please be sure that the degree date is MONTH YEAR.

Have your faculty Advisor authorize you to submit the PDF of the final version of the thesis to megradoffice@mit.edu (the faculty have been instructed to provide Saana McDaniel with an e-mail confirming that the thesis is approved for submission). NO THESIS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS SAANA MCDANIEL HAS THE E-MAIL AUTHORIZATION FROM THE FACULTY ADVISOR.

Follow the instructions for formatting as recommended by MIT Libraries.

Thesis Holds

If you plan to submit a request to hold the thesis from publication, please inform the megradoffice@mit.edu upon submission of your thesis. Thesis hold request forms should be signed by you (the student), then scanned or photographed and submitted to grad-ed@mit.edu with a cc: to your thesis supervisor for follow up approval, if an electronic signature cannot be obtained.
